i used to be in gymnastics when i was little...but then i quit because there wasnt gymnastics for older kids.. now I want to go Edmonton for gymnastics. I would of started early but I was too shy at the time. But now I am kinda of scared to even go because If i did, most of the people there would be all good and started when they were little.

Gymnastics is such a passion for me. I love it.

  1. i'm not saying u can't, however, u would've benefited from starting a bit earlier because if u did it when ur young, then you would have definitely gained more flexibility.

  2. if you love gymnastics, that is all that matters! you will be put in a class with kids that are probably half your age though. either you can suck it up and just manage with the age difference, or you can start up with a friend who also wants to do gymnastics. you could also get a private class if you are willing to pay the extra money. some gyms will have teen classes, so check as many local gymns as you can to find the class that will fit you the best. no matter what though, you CAN start gymnastics even at sixteen and as long as gymnastics is a passion for you, go for it!

  3. well i can answer that question i was in gymnastics for 4 years and i quite at the age  of 11 if thay still reamember you they would put you back into the same level you quit in and build up the strangth to go into higher levels.i was in level 4 and when to state i places 4th in all of florida well........good luck and keep on flippin:-)

  4. i did gymnastics for 9 years and quit recently, and all im saying is, it will be veryyy difficult to do this if you plan on doing well in the competitive world of gymnastics, most of those girls have done gymnastics since they were 5, when its easier because you have a lower fear factor when you're younger, and you gain flexibility easier. howeever, it sounds like your passionate about gymnastics, and since its something you like to do, go for it, and it really doesnt matter if anyone doesnt respect your ability! if thats what you love, you should do it :)

  5. Your not too old. it also depends on how flexible and how fit you are. try doing rhythmic gymnastics or you could start trampolining

  6. You can pick up gymnastics again at 16.  Just remember gymnasts retire between 16-25, to make make it worlds/olympics or anything no you don't have a chance these girls train forever.  If you want to do it for fun there's no reason why you can't.

  7. Of course it's not too late, if you still have a passion for it. Who cares what other's think? Trust me, people care a lot less about it than you think, and if they're all strangers, what does it matter what they think? They'll probably forget about you in a few months. And anyway, who knows, you'll probably find a few beginners around your age too.

I started skating at age 16 and a half (that's considered middle-agish in this sport) and you know what? No one cared, and I'm picking things up fine.

  8. Yeah. Go for it! A lot of gyms have "high school age" classes now for teenagers who want to start gymnastics. You could do that first and then maybe move back into competitive gymnastics.

  9. yeah i live in edmonton and have the same issue with gymnastics cuase i'm not sure and stuff i also have that proablme with tennis but i tihnk a lot of places that provide gymnastic lessons and stuff have like begginer levels for teens and stuff jsut check the websites out cause usually they post programs
