  1. No, a constitution sets the foundation for a government... with no constitution the government would fall apart and it would be control of that state would be taken over by the federal government...which is governed by a constitution

  2. YES, but I doubt it will exist for any significant length of time.

Citizens need to know what to expect from their government to be able to plan their own futures.

Would you do all the work required to build a business if: Next year the nation decided to "nationalize" the business and give you NO compensation for you efforts and claimed the "citizens" must share in your "good luck"?

  3. no it cannot. to be recognized as a state it should have territory, sovereignty, and government. a government will not exist if it doesn't have a constitution to base its laws on. and a constitution is like a summary of a country; it tells about the people, their way of living, their type of government; territory; laws, etc...

  4. Yeah, but someone would take over.  Look at Somalia.

  5. Well, you do need some sort of structure in place to set up the various branches of government. Is there an executive? How do the courts work? Who sets the tax rate? And so on. You can call it whatever you want, but some basics would seem to be needed.

  6. no, remember what happened in the civil war, south carolina broke away from the union and the Union declared war against them and everybody else that succeeded from the union

  7. Yes - for example the "Mother of Parliaments" is in the United Kingdom, a country without a constitution.

  8. surely! :)

  9. Of course and many do.

  10. yes

  11. No since the constitution defines the state. The state's TERRITORIES, RULES, it's GOVERNMENT and it's POPULATION.
