Can a student with an I-20 leave the U.S and come back with any trouble?

i mean can i leave and come back with the same visa or i need to reapply for an I-20?

p.s. my I-20 is not going to expire for another 2 years

  1. You are fine to leave and re-enter the United States with a valid I-20 (just make sure you get the 3rd page signed by the DSO).

    Finally, make sure that your F1 visa has not or will not expire(d) during your absence, if it does, then you will be required to obtain a new F1 visa, which means scheduling a new interview at the U.S. Embassy abroad, before you can be re-admitted into the U.S.


  2. As long as you have valid F1 and valid I-20, you will be fine. If you are still not sure, talk to people in your school international center.

  3. As long as you are still in school at the place that gave you the I-20, have paid all your bills, have been carrying full time loads of classes, and are passing your classes, yeah. You can travel in and out without issue.
