Can a subwoffer work upside down as long as there is a space between the enclosure and the floor?

have an exsitingting sub that i would like to put in my boat but don't what it exposed to any possible moisture

  1. Yes, However, they make special subs for boats so the are moisture protected. Bass Pro Shop is your friend.


  2. A subwoofer puts out low frequencies (bass); which is omni-directional. (It puts out sound in all directions, regardless to which way it is aimed). As far as not wanting it to get wet, you could put it under a tarp or something of the sort. Hope I helped.

    I would like to add that marine grade subs are rubberized, they have a strip of rubber on the cone where it meets the frame to withstand bouncing/shock & the connectors are beefed up
