If I put a subwoofer in my trunk, can it like....loosen parts on my car?

Like....with the bass, can it make parts loose and less stable...???

Hard to explain.

I don't want a extreme hard bass. Just a little one with just enough kick.

  1. More important, it may ruin your ears.

  2. any amount of bass that is produced by a speaker bigger than 8inches (over 100watts RMS) over an extended amount of time will loosen things up- even a nice component setup with a lot of bass can loosen stuff up over a period of time

  3. No, it won't.  If there was extreme hard bass, then it would loosen fasteners, and make you look like a fool driving by.

  4. If you are just looking at adding a little boom to your ride, then no.

It's when you get to extreme amounts of bass that you have to think about structural changes.

  5. In general, cars are built to handle vibration.  A basic subwoofer system shouldn't harm anything at all.

  6. HI, you can tighten things up ie;nuts, bolts etc.

    secure system in trunk good.

check all connections make sure they are good.

Have friends that have lost speakers don't go too loud

    too fast.

  7. i had 2 12's at 1000 watts which i pounded nearly all the time and all i ever noticed was one parking light housing broke loose. if you just want a little kick though you have nothing to worry about.

  8. yes it will...thats why they make sound deadening.....to keep the pannels stiff. also, vibration is loss of sound, you should always have some sort of sound deadening.
