Just wondering, I heard that in the state of Kentucky, Georgia, & Florida that it is legal for a 16-17 yr old to marry a person past the age of 18 if their pregnant without parent consent, buy by a court instead. Is this true and up to date??

  1. If you're talking about yourself, don't get married just because of a baby. You may think that its the right thing to do but the best interest of the child is to live in a loving home, regardless of who that baby lives with. If you two really love each other then by all means get married, but if you're not in love this marriage will ultimately end in divorce and be even harder on your child. Good luck.

  2. yes you can :)

  3. Legaly, if you are pregnant, u r legaly emancipated, which ,means u r legaly an adult. so , yes.. but it may depend on where you live.

  4. i got married when i was 15 and my husband was 18 ..we didnt need to get any court permission..but yet i live in texas

  5. depends on what state u live in

  6. I live in Ga.

You USED to be able to get married if you proved that you were pregnant or have your kids birth certificate (after their born). All they did was send a letter to your parents. I was going to do it.

    BUT....

they changed the law. Now you have to be 18 or have a parent

  7. Incase you didnt know, courts dont let 16 year olds marry just because they have a baby together, you have to have a way better reason than that, a reason which will make the judge think, not something simple like "i love him", which is probably heard almost everyday

They dont hand over consents for marraige to 16 year olds every day

  8. yeah you can.
