  1. This  is a gray area that most people  do not understand.  Since I live in CA,  I will answer you from the laws here.  If you are telling  your TP that you wish to harm yourself or others, the TP has no choice but to enter you into the care system, and then your parents.  However, if you talk to your TP about  something your mom/dad/siblings do that really irritate you, or that you wish you could be somewhere else, no,  they must keep your confidence.  When I was in 'regular' thjerapy, my TP and I  actually discussed what  is and what is not allowed under the law.  She let me know taht she had to eaarn my trust, as i had to earn hers.  The laws in your state may differ somewhat, so it would be best to ask a professional.  You can  call a help line annonymously and ask the questions too.

  5. nope, everything you say is confidential...

unless it's something like you plan to kill yourself or do some kind of harm, then they can notify your parents

  6. No Dr's and therapist have to keep what you say confidential even if your parents asked questions they couldn't release the information.

  7. No. However, if you plan to hurt yourself or anybody else then they can tell your parents.

  8. No they can only tell if you are going to hurt yourself or you say they can tell.

  9. No. Therapists are completely confidential. They can, however, talk to your parents if you are in danger of hurting yourself or others or if you have a seriously debilitating mental illness like schizophrenia.

  10. No. Under Federal law, anyone over the age of 14 is entitled to confidential healthcare. This means, any doctor you see, even on your parent's health insurance, cannot tell your parents about it, or even acknowledge you as a patient. They need your express written permission to do otherwise. The only exceptions to this are court-ordered medical services, and if there is a clear and present danger to your life or someone else's, such as you making a credible threat to kill yourself.

The last exception is if there is the abuse of a child reported, most practitioners are required to report it to law enforcement.
