  1. I'm pretty sure 3-4 years is the Pre-K age but it depends on your state and when the age/birthdate cut-off is.

  2. usually elementary school pre-k is for children who will be able to enter kindergarten once the program is finished.  that means 4 year olds who will be eligable for kg the following fall.

  3. It really depends, but most schools that I have heard of have only a Pre-K program for 4 year olds.

  4. Public school Pre K is for children who will enter kindergarten the following year. Check with Head Start. They often take threes.

  5. I think pre-k is for four year olds. Some public schools have a preschool on site in some cities. You would have to check with your school district.

  6. Actually, in our state, "public school" preK is usually state funded and the age group that qualifies are four year olds.  I know that some are federally funded and that a few very high risk children can attend for two years...3 yr and 4 yr but most are only accepted at 4.  Sorry!

  7. You need to find out from them cause it might just be k-4.  If your child will be 4 by a certain date usually Sept 1, she will be in k-4.  If she just turned 3 this year or will be 3 by a certain date she can go to k-3 and then next year k-4 if they have both programs.  Most private pre-schools have both programs.  I know a couple of public schools here just have k-4 and it is hard to get in it.
