Question:

Can a toothache settle down or does it always get worse and abscess.?

The tooth is sore to touch and very sore when I eat .The top of the gum area feels tender.I can also feel It throbbing.It has quite a deep filling. I can't get to the dentist until Monday.Is it going to get worse or will it settle?

Also is it OK to wait till Monday.

  1. From my experience, if it hurts when you eat and it hasn't had anything done to it you may need a root canal.  Does it hurt when you eat or drink something cold or hot?  If so, i would say the same thing applies.  You should be fine until monday, itwill just hurt.  I would get it taken care of as soon as possible.


  2. toothaches can settle ... it's just a matter of asking WHEN!? you never know. i remember last year i was in so much pain. i didn't know having a toothache could effect so many areas. i had a headache, neck-ache, my whole one side of my face was throbbing, my eye sockets started to hurt, bright lights made the headache worse, my ears were in pain.

    anyways, it should be ok to wait until monday, but in case the pain worsens try using this medicine that worked WONDERS for me at the time. it's called Toothache by RedCross ... it's better than Orajel.
