Hi there... I am currently on a HSMP based visa in UK and will be applying for a General Skilled Migrant visa in 2010. What I need to know is that can a traffic conviction of uninsured driving makes me ineligible for to apply? As the form does ask for convictions specifically pointing out traffic convictions.

  1. Be honest, and put in the conviction that you have received.

One of the criteria for being approved for the renewed visa is " does this person obey the law in the UK ?

I'd say this conviction will go badly against you. Driving  a car,  while uninsured, shows you  to be a person who doesn't bother to folow the rules of the country.
