Has anyone ever taken their two year old bowling? My brother wants to take my daughter but I just think that's not a good idea. Idk I guess I've never seen a child that young bowl before.

  1. Oh she'll be fine if she's well-supervised. I doubt they're going to just give her a ball and let her do whatever. They have these things for little kids that you set the ball on and they just push it down the slope. If they don't have those, she can just put the ball on the ground and push it...and if they have the bumpers up it will eventually get to the pins. It could be really fun for her if she's supervised.

  2. She'll obviously need help throwing the balls but I'm sure she'd have a fun time, especially if bumpers are put up so she can actually hit some pins down.

However, I would make sure the bowling alley they're going to is smoke free.

  3. we do all the time with "help" of course! she loves it. her daddy or i help carry the ball put it on the ground and help her push it. it goes very slow but she gets so excited when she knocks some pins down. i think it would be a great bonding experience. she has never gotten hurt. and i'm sure your child would love the new experience.

  4. I would definitely call ahead to see what provisions they might have available for little kids. Since the actual mechanics of the game are going to be so over her head, I suspect she could have just as much fun "bowling" at home with a ball and some blocks or such.

  5. That's okay, as long as your daughter can already hold a ball that she can carry and shoes that will fit her size. Go to bowling alleys with bumper sides to avoid gutterballs

  6. It sounds like your brother is just wanting to have fun w/ his niece, & to answer your question they can go bowling, they have those bumpers you can put on the lanes so the kids can do well...

Let him take her, if your still unsure,go with them and you will see whats going on.

  7. I don't think it is the best thing to do with a 2 year old child!

  8. Yes. They have this great tool now just for younger kids!(sorry I don't know what it is called!) I took my kids but didn't think my 2 yr. old would be able to participate. I saw other kids using this little hill you push the ball down and along with bumpers she had a blast! Of course we had to put the ball up for her, as it was too heavy for her to lift but she loved rolling it down the hill and watching the pins fall!

  9. Our bowling alley uses the guards on the side to enable young children to get to the pins.  If the ball is light enough, and the guards are used, your child might gain enough encouragement if she knocks down the pins.   I would just be careful of the weight of the ball more than anything. Supervised exposure to sports is a great gift to children.

  10. not the greatest of ideas, but as long as she is properly supervised and there is a light enough ball, then she should be ok

  11. My daughter bowls all the time and started at age 2 and she loves it. The bowling alleys (At least where i live) will even put bumper pads on the lanes so that they dont throw gutter balls all day. I think ske would have fun......

  12. Sure she can!

Lots of places have the really light balls, and the ramp. You walk up the the little one and help the place the ball on the ramp and the child pushes the ball down.

I wouldn't try to make her bowl 3 games, but a quick game I think she'll enjoy.

  13. Call the bowling alley and see what provisions they have for little kids. Some will provide lighter balls and bumpers down the gutters that will prevent kids from bowling nothing but gutter balls and give them a feeling of success. Some alleys will even have special times set up for families. Although 2 is pretty young, you may find the right accommodations  to have a great time.

  14. have him watch her and he would ahve to play for her.
