this june i will be flying internationally (ottawa to amsterdam) and because i am only 13; i will be using the unaccompanied minor service. not to brag or anything, but ive flown first/presidential/business class (whatever every plane calls it ; just the best) before, almost always with my parents.

do you think that if i pay for it would i still be able to get the service in first class? or do i have to sit in economy ? and if i have to sit in economy where do you think ill sit??

thanks

  1. Yes I think you can.

  2. Only if you can get him out of the ground and cleaned up. The word you were looking for is minor.

  3. Yes, they can. I have done it last summer. It is great, I love it. And og0925go, what are you talking about? He did say minor. And the other stuff, what does that mean, clean up?

  4. If you pay for a higher class of service, of course you can sit there!

It doesn't happen very often and I would assume that since you've sat up there before, you are well aware of how to behave. Some of the business people are quite serious when they fly, want to sleep or prepare for meetings, etc. so hope you don't mind if no one speaks much.

You will still have to wait to get off the aircraft (probably) as you need to be escorted from the plane. The Flight Attendants will explain everything. This is actually good news because the unaccompanied minors usually get to go through a special immigration lane and you wont be stuck in line for ages.

I worked for 2 airlines and none had any rule about UM's (what we called them) having to sit in economy.

So hope it goes well and enjoy the caviar!

  5. Of course you can still purchase a business class seat.  Are you flying with either KLM / Air Canada?  Because their Worlds Business Class and Executive Class cabins often have an unaccompanied minor or two in them, just so you know.  Besides, I used to do this all the time flying into Paris.

    Have a nice trip! =]

EDIT:  I flew Air France nearly every time, and Delta once or twice.  I'd recommend them both.
