Pet like cat and dog is not vegetarian animal

they need to eat meat.

So if a vegan person have a cat or dog,

obviously he/she will need to feed his/her pet with meat.

So, can a vegan person keep pet?

  1. Certainly, if you rescue a cat or a dog from an animal shelter you are giving them a new chance at a good life, no vegan would speak out against that. I'm personaly converting to vegan while I feed my cat on a raw meat diet, because I'm really pro giving my boy a species appropriate diet. Dry food is full of c**p like corn and rice and the dead animals in it are ones that died of disease before reaching the slaughter house and stuff like that, pretty disgusting stuff. In the future when I have the money I plan to feed my boy on organic meat. And yes I'm going vegan to try and help stop animal exploitation and cruelty, but even if I still ate meat, he'd still be getting it too, so less suffering has to come from keeping the two of us alive. Visit www.rawfedcats.com for lots of helpful info. And in response to something someone said before, dogs are not omnivores. Yes they can eat vegetables and stuff like that and get something out of it, but not as much nutrition as they get from meat, have you ever seen a wolf chowing down on a pumpkin or carrot? The worlds oldest living dog was an australian sheep dog that lived to be 30ish or something crazy like that and it was fed mainly on emu and kangaroo. And you must remember never cook or grind, messes up taurine which cats need.
