  1. It would not make you a vegetarian by changing the color of meat from red to white.

  2. Yep! :) Go ahead!

  3. It depends on what level of exclusion the person has chosen.  Some purists would say no, but I know many practicing vegetarians that do consume seafood/fish.  It seems to be a personal choice.

  4. It depends on what kind of vegetarian you are. I used to think vegetarians wouldn't eat any meat at all but my health teacher was talking about it the other day and said that theres different types for example  Pollo-Vegetarians eat poultry, such as chicken, turkey, and duck,Pesco-Vegetarians include fish into their diets and Lacto-Ovo-Vegetarians eat both eggs and dairy products but Total Vegetarians eat only plant food. They do not eat any animal foods, including fish, eggs, dairy products, and honey.

  5. You can eat fish thats fine. I was a vegetrain and it was perfectely fine to eat seafood.

  6. im a vegetarian and i dont eat meat or fish because i hat the thought of eating something that has had a family and a life.

If you eat fish you are not a vegetarian but if you still want to carry on eating fish then you can be a 'pescetarian'.

A pescetarian eats seafood but no other meat.

    hope this helped, esmee x

  7. Vegetarians do not eat dead animals.  Fish is an animal.  Many future vegetarians slowly drop flesh from their menu so once you drop all animals from your diet, including slaughter by products, then you will be a vegetarian.

There is NO such thing as a semi vegetarian as stated above and a pescetarian is not a type of vegetarian.

  8. Yes, I know of vegetarians who eat fish...it's actually fairly mainstream to do so, and stuck up vegetarians will get mad at you for it, but I mean...whatever...eat what you want.

  9. According to Section 21 (A) of the Vegetarian Code:

"No vegetarian shall ingest any form of seafood. This includes, but is not limited to, calamari, shellfish, tunafish, yellow tail, sea bass, squid, salmon, and herring."

And under Section 40 (7) of the Penalty Subsection:

Anyone purporting to call themselves  "vegetarian" who contravenes any of the prohibitive regulations contained in this Act (in particular, section 21 (A)) shall be liable to a prison term not exceeding 5 years, or a fine.

    There you have it,

  10. If you want to eat fish and seafood then you would be a pescetarian.  A vegetarian has no meat.  A vegan has no dairy and eggs.  A pescetarian can have dairy and eggs.

  11. No, vegetarians eat no meat what so ever!

  12. Vegetarians don't eat anything with a face.

  13. no they are not..it is still meat

  14. Pescetarianism (or Pesco-vegetarianism) is a semi-vegetarian dietary choice, in which a person — known as a pesco-vegetarian — only eats vegetables, fruit, and fish or other non-mammalian sea food, but will not eat mammals or birds. Some animal products like eggs and dairy may be part of a pescovegetarian diet.

  15. A vegetarian can eat whatever they want.  They choose not to eat meat.  It is about the rights of animals and not eating any products that come from them.  This includes fish and seafood.

  16. eat what you want.  why do yo need a label?

  17. Real vegetarians don't eat fish or any other animal.

Some people eat fish and say they are "vegetarians", but real vegetarians don't accept these people as fellow vegetarians.

  18. Your reasons for turning into a vegetarian are not really right. I turned into a veggie because I did not want to eat animals - however to get protein and keep healthy I do eat fish and seafood. I still think of myself as a vegetarian though because I do not eat pork, beef, chicken or other poultry.

This is actually called a pescatarian (someone who only eats fish/seafood) - but to save trouble I just say I am veggie lol.

No veggies I know say they want to become veggie, what can and can't they eat? They decide themselves.

Eat what you want to eat.

  19. No that's considered meat.

  20. If you eat fish or seafood, you aren't vegetarian.

Vegetarians do not eat animals whether they have hair, feathers, scales or an exoskeleton.

  21. yes they can...well if u want to get technical about it then maybe not but most people dont even consider fish to be meat.  if i did not tell people that i am vegetarian then they would probly assume that i eat chicken ,pork, steak ,hotdogs made of meat etc etc..even though i do not. i did not eat fish for a very long time but i ate it alot this year. its ok by me. if its a land animal dont eat it.if it comes from the water and its not a dolfin then its ok to eat it.!

  22. Well, are fish vegetables?

It's not really rocket science.  No meat.

  23. According to most vegetarians (including myself), a person who eats seafood or fish is not really a vegetarian. Dictionary.com describes a "vegetarian" as:

a person who does not eat or does not believe in eating meat, fish, fowl, or, in some cases, any food derived from animals, as eggs or cheese, but subsists on vegetables, fruits, nuts, grain, etc.

If you're looking for a label, the more fitting one would be a "pescetarian" or a "pescevegetarian," both describing people who supplement vegetarian meals with fish.

    Good luck

  24. A vegetarian does not eat meat. A pescatarian is like a vegetarian but they do eat seafood.

What you are describing is a pescatarian attitude.

    You are a pescatarian.

  25. who the h**l cares. eat what u feel is right. chocolate and cake are essential to a happy diet so eat it if u want.

  26. to lilly above me who said

"Your reasons for turning into a vegetarian are not really right"

that was really untrue and uncalled for. people turn vegan or veggie for many different reasons including health reasons like the original poster ... there is no wrong or right.
