  1. Eggs in the store do not have a fetus in them.  Meat is flesh and there is no flesh in eggs that have not been fertilized.  Where have you been to think that the eggs people eat are "whole chickens"??

  2. If you ask me, meat means flesh, and anything that comes from a killed animal is non-vegetiarian (i.e. gelatin). I don't consider eggs to be meat and a person can eat them and still rightfully be called a vegetarian (or technically an ovo-vegetarian).

  3. Eggs are not meat. You claim it is a fetus, but a fetus is formed from a fertilized egg. The eggs that people eat are unfertilized. It's like saying you could have a kid without having s*x. That's not possible, the egg needs to be fertilized by sperm, then the fertilized egg develops into an embryo, then a fetus, and then it's born, or with hens, it hatches. You also mentioned the food groups... You claimed that because it is not a fruit, vegetable, dairy, or grain, it must be meat. Well, nuts don't fall into any of those 4 categories, so are they meat? They actually are often included in the "meat" category because of their high protein content, but clearly they're not meat, and neither are eggs.

  4. ya. you can be called a vegertairen and still eat eggs. there is accualy no fetus in them because they are not fererlized eggs. But you are considering goin vegetarian u should : ). Its tottaly better for you, the planet and the animals.  N u could eat grain feed eggs its better. I am a vegetarian and i only eat eggs if they are in food like a carrot cake, but i wouldnt eat like  eggs and toast.  I also dont drink milk just strait up, o those poor cows. awww!!!  Sorry i like to explain my vegetarianizzium(my own word) to random strangers on the enternet.

In case you havnt noticed I am a realllyy bad speller like horibal. soo.ya.

    :] veggie head!

  5. Yes, it's called lacto-ovo veg.

There's no way a chicken will be born from that egg.  Do you mourn the lost fetus of a menstruating woman?  Or a man who jerks off (get the legally blonde reference??)?  As long as the egg is unfertilized, there's no way a chick will be born, so it's not a fetus.  The yolk was meant to go for food for nourishing the non-embryo, but since there's no fetus to eat it, then someone may as well.  Stop being judgmental, and allow people to go veg as much as they want.  Vegans will call you non-veg because apparently you consume dairy.  And Fruitarians will go after vegans because they kill the plant instead of just taking the food.  Labels suck when people don't know how to use them properly.

    And I'm a lacto-veg, so it's not like I'm a defending lacto-ovo veg.

  6. Eggs are not fertilized. They're high in protein, but are not a growing animal or chick.

The egg industry can involve many forms of abuse and suffering for chickens, which is why vegans do not eat eggs. But lacto-ovo vegetarians do, and eggs do not qualify as meat.

  7. The smell of eggs is offensive and long lasting to vegetarians. The lasting smell is so strong that my wife cooks eggs in separate pans. So do all other meats and vegetarians keep away from these items.

  8. no because there are fertile and unfertile eggs. the egss we eat are unfertile. chickens utomatically have eggs no matter what (until they are about 3-4) if they mate with a rooster. then they can have fertile eggs. which we  do not eat. unfertile eggs will not be born into a baby no matter what. they are just a dead egg. so no worry. vegitarians can eat eggs, because your not killing a baby chick, it was dead to begin with!

  9. well it depends, if you dont eat dairy, meat, or eggs or anything thats called vegan but if you just dont eat meat, thats called a vegetarian

  10. Eggs are not flesh of an animal so they are suitable for ovo vegetarians. They are sold as a vegetarian product. Vegans don't eat eggs.

Who said they must be classified as anything? They're not meat, that's all you want to know. You're coming from the mindset that *every* food product has to be either a grain or a vegetable or other product of plant origin for it to be vegetarian friendly. Eggs are known as an *animal product*. And vegetarians CAN eat certain animal products. When you think about it, what's milk? It's made up of water, proteins, sugars, vitamins and minerals, just like an egg. But it's certainly NOT meat.

Besides, if you have any concerns, let the Vegetarian Society know-- they're the most authoratative source when it comes to veggie issues. Also look up definitions in the link below.

  11. yes, if they didn't eat dairy/eggs they would be a vegan

  12. Yes, a vegeterian but not a vegan.

  13. i do not consider eggs meat. i don't eat them myself, because of the cruelty of the industry, but chicken can lay unfertilized eggs, meaning they would never have developed into a chicken. therefore they are not fetuses. i look at eggs in the same way i look at milk. they come from an animal but they are natural and (supposedly) not harmful to the animals to produce. if only the diary industry treated animals better, i wouldn't feel bad at all eating eggs, and i've been a vegetarian my whole life.

  14. eggs are not meat

  15. Yes you can that is called octo-vegetarian, a very common form of vegetarian.

  16. there are different types of vegetarians, ova-lactose who eat eggs and or drink milk. lactose who drink milk, and vegans who don't eat any animal products.  i hope this helps

  17. No!

  18. They are still consitered a veatariane!

Sorry If I spelt alot wrong!

  19. i think you shouldn't label people.  ;P

  20. That's like calling your period an abortion(or even homicide).  The eggs we eat are not fertilized.  Chickens produce them naturally and regularly.

  21. yes you can this simply makes you and ovo-vegetarian, the eggs are unfertilized dont even worry bout
