I,ve had a problem with mice and I know that they,re rats in the building and I,ve tried everything to get rid of them but I can still smell them and I,ve also seen dropping's though not recently though the smell is still there and I can hear things at night I,ve had a problem with mice previously.

The problem is that I woke up bleeding from my left arm and it looks like something has sunken it,s teeth in me.is this my imagination.

I have a phobia of wild mice and rats it,s stems from childhood seeing a boy in the cemetery have a mouse hanging from the end of his finger,he was screaming I think he tried to pick it up.

though I,m not afraid and can hold coloured mice and rats which are pets.

please help as this is affecting my sleep, health and work.

unable to have a cat as I live in accommodation which does,nt allow pets and it would be cruel to have a pet when I,m working most of the day.

  1. Yes they can and will bite you in your sleep. The percentage of this happening is low.

  2. why wouldnt it bite you when your asleep, its just an easier target when your not moving

  3. yes they can bite you my friends daughter got bit by a mouse in her sleep...be sure and clean the infected area with peroxide and use some neosporin on it....you can buy rat bait at walmart its in cubes its the same thing exterminators use.....i had a mouse problem and thats what the exterminator told me to use. because he said he used something similair but would charge more. Tell your landlord because that is a health hazard. If they wont do anything about it threaten to call the health department. It may be a wise idea to take a pic of the bite or even go to the E.R so you have a record of it.

  4. Both mice and rats are prey animals and wouldn't attack a sleeping person, despite what rubbish is put around about rats. However, if one was near you and you moved in your sleep it may bite when startled. I can't imagine anyone staying asleep through a rat bite though, and there would be a lot of blood.

There are electronic repellents that omit ultrasonic sound. The trouble is, some work and some don't. It seems you get what you pay for though, because I know people who've used the more expensive ones and cleared their home of rodents in two days. There's no mess or cruelty too!

  5. look into an exterminator. also, if you live in an apartment or some type of housing complex, the company that owns the complex might pay for an exterminator.

  6. Get an exterminator for your apartment, and go see a doctor about the bite.

  7. Yes, infact they go as far as chewing people's body parts off, apparently. I heard of some guys who had their toes nibbled by rodents while they slept.

  8. Anything  can bite you when your asleep.

  9. I can't imagine a rat biting you and you slept through it.  I don't think mice are that aggressive.  Then if you even think you were bitten by a rodent did you seek medical attention?  How do you live in a rat infested building with a phobia?  Rats in the building but the landlord doesn't allow pets?  OOOKKKKAAAYYY!!!

Move is the best and only answer.

  10. OH grose!!!!

but if you don't have rats in your house its not gonna bite you, that happens when yo have rats.

  11. Yes, you can be bitten while sleeping.

    Call an exterminator.

  12. I dont' think it bit you. Rats shouldn't be seriously hostile, or blood hungry. Unless it has rabies.

  13. it is possible they are most likely to attack when your vulnerable as they can sense fear i would get in touch with your land lord and say to him or her about the problem and get them to sort it out as they should do as it is a basic agreement in any lease that they maintain the house to a liveable standard which obviously hasnt happened in your case

  14. They have teeth, so yes they CAN bite.

Try getting over your phobia by doing "a Richard Gere". He used to wrap hamsters up in sello-tape and stuff them up his @rse. They would struggle and asphyxiate but this was all good with old Geary since he would get off on the sensation of them flailing around wildly to death inside his filthy guts and probably tossed himself off at the same time. I have no idea whether this urban myth has roots in anything other than fiction but I can't get the image out of my head whenever his bad acting graces my screen. The story surfaced after he was aledgedly admitted to hospital one time to remove some mummified hamsters from his **** which had got lodged in there and were preventing him from having a s**t.

    Hope that helps a little.

  15. Its very possible that one could have bitten you when you were sleeping

but if you are living in an apartment or something, they have to meet healt code standards and if there are mice and rats like you say there are then you could report them and then they would be forced to take care of the problem

  16. I tried to rescue a mouse from one of those sticky traps once and it bit me, hard.  I had to flick it in the head in order to make it let go.  It sucked.

  17. I think they can bite you, but I don't think they are vicious enough to bite you while sleeping. Most mice are pretty frightened of humans, and would rather run from you than attack. Rats are a bit different, but if you had rats in your apt you would know the difference for sure!

Is it possible that you move? And if you have this phobia, and it's really a "phobia", then you should see someone...it's not healthy for you at all!
