Can a window air condition be placed inside by the window instead of through the window?

My room window is infront of the fire escape and i don't want to block the fire escape?

get a portable air conditoner that you can just plug and and move around to any room..i have one and it works well.

do you have any other windows?

i'm not too sure you can have an air conditoner just sitting on a table inside your house but i don't know.

Those window air conditioners need to be out the window!

They need to be in the window. They do drip water and are not meant to sit inside.

no....when they run the compressor generates heat that blows outside..as well, as condensation that will run out of it....can't put it inside...sorry

As they said on back to the future "hello McFly", no it will not work, it will produce at least as much heat as cooling while wasting your energy dollars.
