My right wrist is slightly larger but it always seems to be about 20 points higher than my left arm.

  1. It's quite common to have different readings in your BP between your two arms. Use the higher one when deciding if you need treatment or not

  2. My cardio advised me  they are cheap but worthless  If you are  big built get a good monitor  with a large cuff   take it to your doctor and compare  Expect to pay about a hundred dollars

  3. It might be because you are not positioning your arm properly when using the wrist BP monitor. Do you have the instructions? Follow what it says, they should have a drawing of how to sit. I would trust the left arm measurement more.

  4. When you are taking your BP keep your arm perfectly straight even  if you have to support  it  with a pillow. Make sure  you are sitting down for at least 5 minutes. before you take it. If its high just repeat in 5 minutes again, If there is a discrepancy still, go to a pharmacy and repeat it there the same way in both arms and check it against you wrist BP monitor. Your BP  is usually higher in your dominant, arm. Let your Dr know about it and let them take your  BP    in both arm manually to  be certain..There maybe   medical disorders that have cause it but  you would have  more symptoms. My mother bought a wrist BP       monitor and we found it to be completly unrelliable.

  5. I don't think so I use it there when I have overweight pt's or pt's with picc lines.
