Can a young male cat impregnate a female in heat?

I have a young male cat (he was born around the first of May) so he is 3 1/2 months old. I also have a year old female who went into heat a couple of weeks ago. I could just be imagining things but she looks like she has gained weight, and any time food is around she's very interested, like if I am cooking she struggles to stand on the counter tops and annoy me. Could she be pregnant? What should I do? What are the signs of being pregnant?

  1. Hi there... it's possible your female could be pregnant, however at 3-1/2 months he may not have reached sexual maturity.  If you believe your cat is pregnant the only way to verify this is to have her medically evaluated.

Many shelters offer low cost or free spay/neuter services.  If you are located in the USA here's a list of participating clinics: http://www.lovethatcat.com/spayneuter.ht...
