  1. Crocodiles swim in salt water.

  2. Crocodiles tend to congregate in freshwater habitats like rivers, lakes, wetlands and sometimes in brackish water.

Alligators are found in most freshwater and brackish areas.

  3. Yes there are Ocean Dwelling Alligators and Crocodiles

  4. Both can swin in salt water.

Crocodiles can LIVE in salt water. They can drink it and expel the salt out of their bodies.

Alligators CANNOT LIVE in salt water. If they drink salt water they can die just like we can. They can live in brackish water though.

Alligators can venture into salt water, but must go back into freshwater.

  5. Crocidiles Swim In Salt Water.

  6. We had a house on a salt water canal in Florida, and we did see a gator in it once.  And I've seen them in brackish waters.  Crocs can also do salt water as well.

  7. They both can swim in it but only for short periods of time unless it is a salt water crocodile.

  8. Gators and crocs can both swim in salt water, but crocodiles are much more capable of dealing with the excess salt; they're regularly seen in coastal areas, whereas gators show up in seawater much less frequently.

EDIT:  crocodiles do have glands on the tongue to deal with excess salt, but they don't deliberately drink seawater.  They get metabolic water from food when they're in seawater.  The excess salt comes less from accidentally-ingested seawater than from the lack of ingested freshwater.

  9. Yes but can not survive. Only the "Salt Water Crocodile" can survive in Salt Water. Thank you.

  10. I live in Florida and I've seen LOTS of alligators in salt water.

From watching TV, I've seen lots of crocs in saltwater too.
