Can americans own a business in Costa Rica?

Just wondering if americans can own and operate a business in costa rica. any and all answers will be appreciated.

Yes most definitely. The Costa Rican Government and commerce encourage foreign ownership in business. They have laws in place to protect the local workforce, so the only way you can really live and work here is if you own a business and hire all Costa Ricans to operate it. There is a lot to learn in terms of legalities but you can get your residency card fairly easily if you hire a lawyer.
