Can amoxicillin come out in stool of 6 month old?

amoxicillin was precribed for my 6mth old for an ear infection. after 4 days of usage which is 3/4 tsp twice a day, i noticed a pinkish color in her stool - is this normal?

  1. yes it is normal. and expect it for at least a few days after the doses stop.  


  2. Yes, we don't always digest stuff completely, babies have a less developed digestive system than adults, so expect to see even more undigested stuff that is not normal for the child to ingest, like medicine.

  3. It is more than likely the dye in the medicine.  Most medicines, especially antibiotics, will change the color of urine and/or stool.  If you're really worried about it, then you should call her pediatrician.
