Can an 18 year old beginner snowboarder ever be good enough to compete?

  1. There was one guy that went pro after 4 years. I couldn't believe it. I wouldn't expect it if I was you. Just have fun.  

    I would never want to compete.  For me its just me and the mountain becoming one.  Few probably look at the sport the way I do but I get more out of free riding than park dwelling. I like the sense of adventure you get from exploring.


  2. 18 is not too late: it depends on hard work, skill, dedication and so on.  Some people can learn faster than others.  There is only one way to find out if you are good enough, get out there and try!

  3. No, it is not too late.  But you are going to have to be dedicated and go up a lot.  I would suggest finding a really good group of guys to let you tag along, and then just make yourself keep up, even if you get scared.  

    I guess it means what level you want to compete at too.  Girls just competing at small local level comps don't have to be that good.
