the Theater is Harkins in Arizona Sedona?? is it true that you have to be 21 to buy tickets to an R rated moive for kids under 18?

where i live they ask for the ids of anyone who buys a rated r ticket.  so if i went to buy 2 rated R tickets they would need the ids of 2 people who are 17 or older

where I live if I buy 2 tickets they only ask for your id not the other person who is going to the movie with you and I always buy my friends who are underage tickets.
