Can an American graduate be an English teacher in London, UK?

Question

I go to The City University of New York - Hunter College taking up English with concentration on Adolescent Education and will be done in 2 years. I really do want to be a teacher and consider teaching in London, UK. Would I be able to get a job as an English teacher in there? If you know more information regarding this subject, please do respond and tell me what you know. Requirements? Qualifications? Etc. I went to London a couple of weeks ago and fell in-love with it instantly.

With the proper accreditation, registration and application, I'm quite sure the school authorities in London would be able to assist you in finding work...but, please, don't be a pushy American who thinks 'everything right' is American...it isn't...

Well, i think you have to take an exam there...my dad was a doctor in mexico and when we moved to USA his education and accreditations didn't work here....ergo, he's not a doctor anymore becasue he would have to start over....
