It's perfectly fine.  One of my son's aunts is his Godmother, and one of his uncles is his Godfather.

anyone can be a god mother.  i do know that catholics require a catholic to be included.  im an aunt and a godmother,,,and my kids have aunts that are theirs.  it is actually a choice you make as to who you want in their lives.  i chose family that i know would do the same things i do,,,and have the same views as i.  if you are concerned about who can/cannot (especially if you are catholic) i would talk to your priest
