If an Embassy/Consulate is informed of one of their citizens engaging in criminal activity in the "host" country, can they "revoke" the citizen's passport (travel authorization)?

If so, would they then have to return to their country of origin?

  1. Yes and No! What country, what activity, etc. Every country has different laws. The US revoked Mr Agees passport for treason. So US passports can be revoked.

  2. probably you could be sent to Guantanamo detention centre.

  3. any consular   /embassy can revoke your passport actually i will be   special agents  from diplomatis  security services  to dot hat as they are  part of the uS Deprt of State  charged by said to enforce all dept of state regulation  since the passports fall under their juresdiction  yes they can revoke  and may also inform the host governmemnt of any illegal activity  of criminal nanture and issue you a  travel document  for you to  return  home

  4. Not usually for that reason (no matter what the nationality). Usually it would have to be treasonous activity. Eg rioting at the Chinese embassy if you were Chinese and inciting hate against them.

Osama Bin Laden lost his Saudi nationality but he was speaking openly about the Saudi Arabians, you can commonly use it if you willingly (sometimes unwillingly) gain another citizenship (only if your country doesn't allow dual).

If a passport is revoked it usually means that citizenship is revoked too.
