Can an English person work in India?

I visited India a couple of years back and would like to return.

Is there any work i could do whilst in India to fund my trip or to do some good. Love working with wildlife or doing jobs that help people or our environment.

Would i have any problems working in India on a tourist visa?

If you have the right qualification I don't think you would have any problems. In most countries working with a tourist visa is not welcomed but you may  volunteer.

Well, you can certainly work in India on a tourist visa if you are looking at it to fund your stay in India. But this usually involves a lot of unneccessary trips to the consulate at times, you can be called at any given point of time, a lot of paper work is needed, sometimes it tends to be irritating.

But again, if this is only about some months then its the only way out.

Write to Indian embassy or consulate.

See if British over seas service has any suitable opening in India or other large British companies have offices in India, then contact them see what you can land on.
