Can an Olympic award be taken from a competitor for poor sportsmanship?

This guy approached the judges aggressively, punched several items around the room and threw his medal on the floor. talk about poor *** attitude.

  1. He said he quit and threw the medal. I don't think he doesn't gives a $hit about it. He wanted to win and there's nothing wrong with that but yes his attitude is poor.  


  2. If this guy earns prize money along with an Olympic award, he deserves neither.  

  3. How would you take away an Olympic medal that the athlete refused to accept?  That's like..

    "I quit"
