We have concrete pad in our backyard that takes up alot of space and would like to put a pool in that area. I'm hoping that an above ground pool can be placed directly onto the concrete.

  1. yes as long there is a sand base first to prevent riping the liner.

  2. Order some sand ( a half or full Truck load)depending on the size of your concrete slab, level it out to make sure you have a soft smooth surface .Then install your pool you shouldn't have any problems.

  3. I agree with the person who says a small stone could cause a tear.  However. If you could build a square of RR or landscaping ties and fill this with sand I think you would be OK and assuming the concrete is level your installation would be easier and you would have fewer problems leveling.

  4. It really needs a sandy base. First off the concrete is too hard on the bottom of the pool...the foot movement could cause a hole to wear in the vinyl bottom. It only takes a little pebble left on the slab to cause a hole in the vinyl.

  5. kids? hard floor not good! build a sand box or the sand will wash from underneath with rain line box with plastic seamless if possible tarp whatever heavy stuff  do it once
