Hi..I had an accident at work about 5yrs ago now and i was woundering if it has effected the nerves in my hands.Im a chef and 1 day i was taking boiling hot gravy off the stove at about 90 to 100 dagrees plus and i banged it against the table i was going to place it onto and it went all over my hands and arms.I washed it off straight the way kept my hands under the tap for about half an hour.I did not go to the hospital untill about three days after the incident in which the mean time i also was working.I had blisters on my hands at this time and when i got to the hospital they wraped both my hands and arms up and i had to keep them on for a week. After this my arms and hands where okay,I have no scars or burning sensations while working over a hot stove but my hands do shake quite a lot.Sometimes they are not shaking but most of the time they are sometimes worse than others.I nether noticed this before my accident. So i would like to know if this could be the cause of it? Thank for your time.

  1. if getting scalded caused this [and i'm not saying it didn't] all chefs would have the shakes because it a occupational hazard being burnt and scalded you should go see your doctor it could be something else that needs treatment now

  2. it could be associated with nerve damage due to the heat; but it could also be a condition (recently changed) called essential tremors--shaking or vibrations to the hands or arms; Check it out--stretch your arms in front of you (check of the shakes, is it worse when doing this as compared to having them to your side) and see if the shakes become worse.  If yes go see a neurologist to get you arms and hands tested.  There are meds for the shakes and an operation--deep brain stimulation to control the shakes

  3. Yes, I'm sorry, but you may have nerve damage.
