I think regular dwarfs are smaller than netherlands, my dwarf rabbit is medium, and i was considering getting him a friend :] I wanted to know if a female young netherland dwarf would be okay? would they fight? Oh and my bunny is getting neutered before i get him a friend. :]

  1. the dwarf larger/smaller thing is all a matter of genetics and is a little complicated but you are right, other dwarf rabbits are larger than netherland dwarfs.

A friend would be a great idea for your rabbit, and it wouldn't really matter, young or old, but female is definitely recommended. most likely they would not fight, but rabbits do establish an order of dominance as soon as they meet each other, which is shown by mounting, it's just something bunnies do.

good that you are getting him neutered, and you also might want to consider getting the female spayed also, because sometimes they can be moody and aggressive as they reach maturity.

    Good luck!
