I have a rental contract with a tenant, signed on behalf of the incorporation, can the agent of the incorporation or any board member represent the incorporation in an eviction case in Chicago?

can the agent or board member be given power of attorney to do that, will the court in Illinois accept that?

  1. Only a licensed attorney can represent someone in court.  a person can represent himself, but the corporation has no body to appear in court and so must be represented.  The corporation cannot authorize someone to engage in the practice of law without a license.
