If your an American citizen how come you have a Nigerian Passport ?

If you have dual nationality then apply for a USA Passport.

Right now you can go to Nigeria on your Nigerian Passport without a visa, but the USA might let you come back.

If that person has dual citizenship of Nigeria and US, then Yes.

Apparently you were a citizen of Nigeria before becoming a naturalized US citizen.  To become naturalized, you had to swear an oath renouncing your citizenship and "all allegiences" -- so as far as the US is concerned, you can no longer have a Nigerian passport.  You must exit and re-enter the US only using a US passport.  

You can enter Nigeria on your Nigerian passport, but you have no ability to call on the US consular services for assistance or anything while you are in Nigeria.

yes they can, i just came back yesterday from nigeria with both nigerian passport and american passport...u can if you are a dual citizen. Its allowed in both countries constitution
