  1. yes it is alowed!it's a normal order from the  co!

  2. Rule 304 of the Manual for Courts Martial basically states that a Commander can give a verbal order based on "conditions of liberty."  A violation of any order given by an Officer, Warrant Officer or NCO that are given on the "conditions of liberty" is punishable by UCMJ.

If there was an incident at the barracks involving alcohol, the Commander can issue a "no-alcohol" order.  If you're pending deployment, your BC will give instructions to the CO in which NO ALCOHOL will be consumed 24 hours prior to departure.

If you can't live 1 day/night without alcohol, you've got issues...

  3. sounds like ur company has some isues bud and yes it is allowed if he wants he can lock the whole company down in the barracks if he feels there is a discipline issue all he has to do is show good cause

and thats only if someone asks why he did it

  4. The Army can do anything it wants. It's a lawful order, and must be obeyed. It's no different than ordering you to be back at by a certain time, or to march. Look at the Navy. There's no drinking allowed on the ship at sea. Same thing.

  5. It would be an order, plain and simple.  It would spelled out in a unit policy letter.  If the battalion commander supports the order, good luck trying to change it.

A company commander can order the company to come in on the weekend if he or she wants to.  A company commander can cancel all passes, which includes allowing Soldiers to leave the post on the weekend.

Now, a battalion commander more then likely would overturn an order like those mentioned above unless there was a specific reason and plan for it.

  6. yes it is a legal order.  ESPECIALLY if they are deployed or there was an incident involving alcohol recently.
