  1. Totally depends on the size of the boat. If you are talking a flat bottom john boat, it is no problem even if it's 20' long. If talking fiberglass or wood, anything over 14' with an outboard is going to be pushing the limits of your truck. It may pull a slightly bigger boat, but you aren't going to be able to pull it out of the water, up the boat ramp.

  2. the best answer i can come up with is yes depending on the size of the boat but pulling it is not the only problem you may have if it is a heavy boat and the trailor has no breaks your problem now is stoping the whole rig with the small breaks on the ford ranger

  3. depends on the weight of the boat and the type of hitch you have. check ur owners manual to see what the towing capacity is. i think  its like 1200 pounds and you should be ok with just a small fishing boat. but again, check ur manaual to make sure

  4. My 4 cylinder Ranger will pull my 16 foot VIP bass boat w/50hp engine. Can be a strain at a wet or steep ramp. Just remember, sometimes its not in the pulling, but the STOPPING!!

  5. Yes you can.  But before you do I would check your truck's manual to make sure.  You need to check what the maximum load on the truck is and make sure the boat and trailer are under the weight limit.  With a 4 cylinder you might have trouble going up hills or pulling the boat out of the water but be cautious and you should be fine.
