Can an earthquake last for over two hours?

I suppose it could, but not very likely. An earthquake is caused by a shift of two (or more) pieces of land against each other. Normally this only takes a short period of time. Another source of earthquakes could be from a volcanic eruption. In this case, since an eruption can last for minutes, hours, days or even longer, the earth 'could' shake for over two hours.

not all at once, continuously, if it did it would resonate and we'd all be in pretty bad shape after it stopped.

i'm not sure how far the effect would spread.. since time is the essence in how bad a quake can be.

i'm sure no matter the classification of the earthquake, it would be one of the worst in the world i'll tell ya that!    probably a quake to end all quakes...   (for us that is.. not the earth.)
