While gossip forms one of the oldest and most common means of spreading and sharing facts and views, it also has a reputation for the introduction of errors and other variations into the information thus transmitted. No you can't be fired over gossip unless your the one spreading the false rumors.  

  3. Yes.  A company in most states, does not have to show ANY reason for firing you.  If gossip is going around, they might believe it. They can fire you, without proof of the reason.  

  4. you can be fired at anytime for any reason or no reason at all.
