Can an employer in the state of texas keep you from taking your personal belongings if you are terminated?

If terminated, can the employer or supervisor keep you from taking your personal belongings in texas. They are yours, why cant you take them.

I imagine there is a burden of proof, which may be difficult, but you can certainly take them to small claims court if you feel you are wronged.  Careful, though.  Texas is very "pro-business."
