No, you must be a legal citizen of the United States to adopt, and when you try to adopt the government looks into all of your information in order to decide if you are a suitable parent and they would find out you were an illegal alien and you would probably be deported.

Nope, not at all. As soon as you fill out the paperwork they will ask for your social security number... do you have one? If no, then you will get yor *** deported back to wherever you came from!

Nope.  But a citizen of another country with a visitor's visa can.  An illegal alien CAN be made guardian of a relative's child.  Don't even ask me how that works, but it does happen here occasionally.

It depends on how you go about doing it.  But I would say not very easily.  How can they do a background check on someone that does not have a social security number etc?  Plus I feel if you have not taken the time to do the proper paperwork to become a US citizen, why should you have the right to adopt here?

My husband and I Adopted and my husband is a "Legal Resident Alien" He had to provide All legal documentation of his resident status.... One of us had to be a US Citizen and the other had to be in the US and legally documented.....

it is not very fair on the child to be raised by an illegal alien.the child needs stability and security.i really can't see the adoption being legalised anyway.how can you tell a lawyer/judge you are illegal?.

I just don't see why anyone would let someone adopt if they were knowingly doing something illegal, no matter how minor it is.

Dear god, I should hope not! I don't think any judge in the USA would allow an illegal alien to adopt-they don't allow convicted felons to adopt, and illegal aliens are just felons who haven't been caught! If YOU are illegal and thinking of adoption, please get your citizenship taken care of 1st. If you KNOW of an illegal alien who is attempting to adopt a child, you'd be doing the right thing by notifying the authorities! Illegal aliens might think they can get a green card by adopting an American child-it ain't happening!
