  1. Static images certainly can burn-in to the screen if you have a plasma. LCD screens are basically immune to this. ( I say "basically" because it might happen on some planet somewhere, but I've never seen it in my life.)

There are some plasma screens that don't burn-in as easily, but it's got nothing to do with the plasma technology itself, so even if it's a newer screen you could still have problems if it doesn't use one of the tactics to avoid it.

I'd check to see if your particular model uses anything to help prevent burn-in, such as pixel shifting and the like. It would probably say in the manual or the manufacturer's website.

I found a link that explains it pretty well, listed below.

  2. Yes it is true.

Just about all Plasma screens are prone to burn-in , especially using gaming consoles.

You should of bought a LCD screen instead.

  3. Any plasma is susceptable to burn in.  What to avoid?  Games.  They usually have stationary score boxes with white numbers and outlines----Stationary white objects are the usual culprits--not allways--any stationary object can cause it.  I've seen one 3 months old that had a line going across the middle---the guy asked how he can stop it--I told him to stop watching CNN (the offending station)  It rots brain

  4. Yes, it's called image retention, but your TV should have a thing that clears it with a grey bar, or if you want it will clean out for you.

  5. i believe images can only burn into lcd moniters

    not sure though
