Can an infection delay your period?

I had a d&c about a month ago, i had gotten a little infection from it and i thought it had cleared up but its been about 5 days since my period was supposed to start and it hasnt. Is it possible that an infection is causing the delay? My discharge is still heavy and its a little off color. No Im not pregnant Ive tested 3 times

While I'm not a doctor, I know that anything going on can effect your period. Your body is trying to fight off an infection and it's changing your hormones at the same time. Are you taking antibiotics for this infection? That could def affect your body's clock.

The second assumption is that your period is just moving up a few days - the body always changes, in general and you never know what to expect.
