Question:

Can an injury to the testicles even at a young age cause future chances of becoming sterile?

when I was about seven years I was hit in the testicles which caused them to swell up. I went to the hospital and they determined everything was ok and to just wait for the swelling to go down naturally. 14 years later I am engaged to be married and I have some concerns about my chances of being sterile from this accident. We are not trying to have a baby at the time, but I am concerned for the future. Thanks in advance for any answers.

  1. Damage to the testicles at any age could cause a man to become infertile in the future. Though, If the doctors told you would be fine then you should be. If you're still worried you can get a sperm count done.

    Good luck :)

  2. its not likely ... it should be fine

  3. it should have healed fully by now unless you have torn any testicular tubes in your detailless accident

  4. Congrats!!

I would say it would probably not cause a problem, especially because at that point, you weren't even producing sperm.  However, if you are really worried, go see a urologist and get a sperm count.

  5. wow... my bf had a hernia on his testicles when he was born and had to get it taken off, well we've been trying to get pregnant with no success.. I'm sorry to say but that could be a reason why you could be sterile, if you are.. i hope no though. good luck and god bless

  6. You may wnat to have a sperm count done, talk seriously to your doctor.

It will relieve your stress.  You have enough just getting married.

    Good Luck!

  7. Depends on the injury & how severe it was.
