Sniper type bolt action spring rifles can often be internally upgraded in numerous ways, including the addition of more powerful springs, different capacity piston/cylinders, trigger jobs, and the addition of tightbore barrels for greater accuracy.

Cheaper spring guns that resemble automatic weapons are usually directed at the low end of the market and are not generally upgradable.
