Can an ipod touch pick up a cell phone signal??>?

Question

i wanted to know if an ipod touch can pick up a cell phone signal.

for example.if the itouch has it's wifi turned on..and you have your phone turned on..or your calling somebody.

will the ipod touch use the cell phone to connect to wifi?

if so..can u explain please!?

Simply no... I could go into a lot of detail about how it would need a valid proxy server to get a wi-fi connection but I'll just stick with no.
