Question:

Can an item like this be useful to get my DS Lite online into Wi-Fi?

You see my mom had gotten her hands on a newer and stronger router but the problem is that my Nintendo DS Lite is unable to use Wi-Fi due to the router using WPA2 connection. The Nintendo Wii can go through it no problem due to a recent system update but the DS Lite is a different story because when I want to try to add it, it shows a gray lock meaning that it isn't compatible.

Realizing this, I had to get myself some sort of Wireless USB connector but Nintendo's official Wi-Fi USB Connector has been discontinued until further notice. Now I hear of something like this... a WiFi Link Wireless USB LAN Adapter and I wonder... will it work? Please help me out because without Wi-Fi, playing on the DS can get quite boring real fast. Here's a link to it hoping to see what I mean.

I hope to hear from everyone.

  1. yes

  2. uh WPA2, its just a more advanced form of WEP. there will be a key, most likely on the router itself

  3. It looks like it would, but this device would go on your computer and then share out the internet. Your best bet is to get a standard wireless router and share your internet there. It would give you a hardware firewall and create a WiFi network for your home that your DS could join. They are very affordable now and you can find fairly good, basic routers at electronic stores for under $50
