  1. You need to ask a Yacht Chandler or a boat shop that sells boats with outboards. Plastimo are a firm that sells add ons that may help. Also try Teleflex Marine for hydraulic kits.

  2. Many can. My Suzuki easily converts.

Check with your supplier for a kit.

  3. It would help to know your motor make, size and age, but generally the answer is yes.  Marinas stock these and may even have used ones if you shop around.  You will need a  steering bracket, cables and control boxes for shifting and throttle.  You will also need the steering wheel, cables, etc.  Finding an old used boat with everything you need already in it would be your best bet, especially if the boat is junk and you can get it cheap.  You could skip electric starting at the helm.  Spartawo answerer is just blowing smoke and obviously knows nothing.

  4. Yes definately, even most of the old Seagulls'.

  5. Patrick, if you mean remote control like with a radio set up, yes. If you mean refit the outboard to work from a control panel, yes again. Any mechanical marine device can be remotely used by inserting wiring, assistance modulators, and proper battery power. When purchasing boat ask about conversion to a remote unit. They should know about that.

    Spartawo...

  6. If you haven't bought it yet ask your seller. Most can be adapted to a remote throttle and shifter and steering wheel. Joe P has it right.
