  1. Sure. An outdoor cord is better made than an indoor. They are made for the weather, whereas the indoor doesn`t need it.

Just make sure the one you use has the amperage capacity you need, and don`t cover it.

  2. yes,but don't use an indoor for outdoors.

if the cord is warm, you using wrong size cord,it could cause a fire,be careful, try a larger cord.

  3. Air conditioners pull  alot of energy. Usually you need a dedicated circuit for a unit. All say do not use an extension cord to power the  unit. If the cord gets hot then you need to stop. Fire is not worth the risk.

  4. No, do not use an extent ion cord to plug in any air conditioner. they need to be plug in to a designated  volts outlet.

  5. Typically NO

Because most extension cords are NOT RATED for the amps an air conditioner needs to pull.  While an outdoor cord is usually built heavier than an indoor extension cord, you STILL have to look at the ratings on it.  The longer a cord is, the more drop in amps it will have.

You CAN purchase a short appliance extension cord made for air conditioners and such, at some hardware or appliance stores.  I would NOT run anything else from the outlet that you run the air conditioner from.

If your cord is already warm, that's a danger sign.  Unplug the unit.

    Be Safe
