I had a blood test done 5 days before my period is due, and it was negative. That same day I found out that I have a cyst on my left ovary. Can an ovarian cyst cause a false negatrive pregnancy test?

My period is due tomorrow and there is no sign of it coming..

  1. nope...but it can cause a false positive!  Your period may even be delayed due to the cyst.  It can even throw you off into making you believe you are preggers!  It takes about 1-3 cycles for the cyst to go away on it's own.  Our ovaries ovulate every cycle...and it depends on which ovary will actually produce an egg.  Sometimes the right or left one can produce an egg every month without alternating.  So, the ovary you have the cyst on needs to go away before an egg can be produced from that ovary.  Otherwise if you are trying to get preggers hopefully your other ovary will produce the egg!  Good luck!
