Can an xbox 360 ruin a HD tv if you play on it for 4 hours strait every 8 hours?

I do this every day, my tv is 54inch

I doubt it but don't you think playing it for that long is slightly unhealthy? ... The only reason i could think of that damaging your screen would be over heating, if its a rear projection TV then it could do but if it's a LCD or Plasma i cant see why it would do much damage. It will shorten the life of your TV though.

Depending on the type of TV you play it on, you may eventually have an image burned into the screen.  This is most common with games where you may have an image that does not change during gameplay such as many sports games where the score is always on the same spot on the tv.  Same with keeping it on an all news channel that has a bar on the bottom that scrolls.  Older projection style tv's are most susceptible to this problem as are modern plasmas and lcd.  The older standard televisions are less likely to these problems.

That being said, it will take a significant amount of time for it to happen but if continued it is likely you will notice it at some point in the future.

no i dont think soo because some times i play  4 like 10 hours straight and ive had my xbox360 like since 2 years sooo i dnt think tht it would ruin the HD

I've played my xBOx for  over 10 hours and nothing bad has happenend. So I think you are fine.

yes it will melt the tv...no of course not, eventually the tv is going to wear out, will an xbox make it wear out faster? most likely not

only if it is a plasma screen and you play the same game without showimg anything else on the screen in between, then screenburn would be an issue, but if it is an lcd screen you will not get screenburn due to the way the technology works as you are not burning anything to create the picture. happy gaming!
